Al Ain sensationally defeated Al Hilal in last season’s AFC Champions League™ semi-finals as they went on to lift the coveted trophy for the second time in their history.
Hernan Crespo’s side have started their continental campaign with a draw and a defeat and desperately need a win to move up the standings, with only the top eight teams to advance to the Round of 16.
Al Ain will fancy their chances, having defeated Al Hilal six times in their previous 15 meetings on the continental stage, with the Saudi Arabia side having won seven.
Al Hilal, however, will be supremely confident of avenging last season’s defeat with the four-time Asian champions in fiery form both domestically and on the continental stage.
They notched their seventh straight Saudi Pro League 2024/25 win with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat of Al Fayha on Friday and will be aiming to defend their perfect start in the AFC Champions League Elite as well.
