The Socceroos got their campaign back on track with a 3-1 victory against China PR in Adelaide where hometown hero Craig Goodwin scored the pick of the goals as he drove forward before unleashing an unstoppable drive from 25 yards that flew into the net.
Mohamed Marhoon (Bahrain) v Indonesia
Bahrain opened the scoring against Indonesia in stunning fashion when midfielder Mohamed Marhoon applied the knuckleball technique for his long-range free-kick that left Maarten Paes rooted to his spot as the ball went in off the underside of the crossbar.
Rafael Struick (Indonesia) v Bahrain
In the second half of the same match, Indonesia demonstrated their own qualities when Thom Haye played the ball out to Rafael Struick and the young forward bent it in from the edge of the box for his first-ever senior international goal for Team Garuda.
Alimardon Shukurov (Kyrgyz Republic) v Qatar
Despite Kyrgyz Republic falling to a defeat at the hands of Qatar, Alimardon Shukurov had a moment to remember as he controlled captain Valery Kichin’s cross and then came up with a thunderous strike that any player in world football would be proud of!
Aymen Hussein (Iraq) v Korea Republic
A goal worthy of being nominated in every list as Ali Jasim and Amjad Attwan combined on the right before the latter put a cross into the middle and Aymen Hussein produced an acrobatic finish for his 30th international goal, in the process entering Iraq’s top five all-time goalscorers list.
Lee Jae-sung (Korea Republic) v Iraq
Korea Republic gave Iraq a taste of their own medicine with a nice team move which saw substitute Moon Seon-min produce a neat backheel for Lee Myung-jae whose wonderful cross from the left was met by a diving header from Lee Jae-sung, giving Jalal Hassan no chance in the Iraqi goal.
Ali Olwan (Jordan) v Oman
Jordan were at their very best in a commanding 4-0 victory against Oman at Amman International Stadium with Ali Olwan rounding off the scoring with some individual brilliance after nutmegging his marker and then rifling the ball into the roof of the net.
Zhang Yuning (China PR) v Indonesia
China PR registered their first win in Group C against Indonesia, doubling their lead with a sumptuous move when Gao Zhunyi used the outside of his foot for a fabulous assist that played in Zhang Yuning and the centre-forward made no mistake to send the home fans into raptures.
Almoez Ali (Qatar) v Islamic Republic of Iran
Qatar hit Iran with the direct approach in their crucial encounter as Lucas Mendes played a long ball forward which Almoez Ali allowed to bounce twice in front of him before connecting with a first-time rocket that flew into the back of the net.
Sardar Azmoun (Islamic Republic of Iran) v Qatar
One of Iran’s star forwards equalised with a brilliant header when Omid Noorafkan’s left-footed delivery into the box was met by an unmarked Sardar Azmoun who made finding the top corner look easy with his first goal of the third round.
