DPR Korea have twice lifted the title, Japan were champions in 2018 and runners-up two years ago, Korea Republic were third in the 2010 edition while Australia will be bidding to improve on the quarter-final finishes of 2002 and 2004.

Trimis played a major part in Australia securing a second consecutive appearance at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, with the 18-year-old scoring three goals as the Young Matildas finished third in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2024.
The forward, who plays for Central Coast Mariners in the A-League Women’s, will be aiming to carry her form into Colombia 2024 as Australia bid to advance to the knockout stage for the first time since 2004.
Chae Un Yong – DPR Korea
DPR Korea will be counting on Chae to deliver as they chase a third FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup title.
The 20-year-old was named the MVP of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024 and the East Asian side will expect the midfielder to now shine on the global stage.
Jeon Yu-gyeong – Korea Republic
Jeon’s four goals in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024 played a large role in Korea Republic confirming back-to-back appearances at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
With three-time winners Germany and twice runners-up Nigeria to contend with, Korea Republic will need the 20-year-old forward to be firing on all cylinders in their bid to reach the knockout stage after suffering group stage elimination two years ago.
Maya Hijikata – Japan
Japan fell just short in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2024 final against DPR Korea but Hijikata was one of several success stories to emerge from the tournament.
The striker, who plays her club football with WE League side Tokyo Verdy, not only netted four times but also helped create goals and will be raring to show her quality on the global stage.
