It will be a meeting between familiar foes as the sides were pitted together in the group stage, with Al Arabi winning the tie 3-2.
Al Arabi will fancy their chances as they are in good form, sitting just two points behind Kuwait SC in the race for the Kuwait Premier League title.
They drew 1-1 with Al Fahaleel over the weekend and have enjoyed sterling form on the continent as well, having advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-2 win against Oman’s Al Seeb Club in their last eight tie.
Arkadag may have lost to Al Arabi when they met earlier in the season but the Turkmenistan side topped Group B on goal difference.
Although it is still early days, Arkadag – who defeated India’s East Bengal 3-1 in the quarter-finals – have kicked off their Turkmenistan title defence with two wins, including beating Merw 7-0 last week.
