The first FIFA Club World Cup™ is now just 81 days away!
Recent Urawa Red Diamonds signing Matheus Savio incredibly created 81 more chances than any other player in the J1 League over the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. The playmaker registered 241 for Kashiwa Reysol, with Vissel Kobe’s Yuya Osako and Yan Matheus of Yokohoma F. Marinos next on 160 apiece.
Matheus Savio has finished as the competition’s top chance creator for three seasons running, while he also led the league for successful dribbles last term.
The tiny town in which Matheus Savio was born, Brodowski in Sao Paulo state, was named after a Polish engineer. Coincidentally, the man architecting Urawa’s assault on the FIFA Club World Cup, coach Maciej Skorza, is also a Pole.
Urawa will encounter CA River Plate and FC Internazionale Milano in Seattle, before heading to Los Angeles for their final Group E game against CF Monterrey.
