A terrific Ibrahim Adel brace helped Egypt leapfrog already-qualified Spain to top Group C following a stunning 2-1 win. That result confirmed Dominican Republic’s elimination, who could only draw 1-1 with Uzbekistan in Paris, ensuring both debutants finished their respective campaigns without a victory.

Dominican Republic saw their Olympic adventure come to an end following a 1-1 draw with an already-eliminated Uzbekistan. The Caribbean nation took the lead following the half-time interval when Rafael Nunez rattled home a penalty after Nowend Lorenzo was fouled by Abdukodir Khusanov. The lead didn’t last long, though, as Alisher Odilov raced into the area and tucked the ball home just seven minutes later to earn Uzbekistan a share of the spoils.
Spain 1-2 Egypt
Goals
Egypt scorer: Adel (42, 62)
Spain scorer: Omorodion (90)
Egypt confirmed their place in the knockout phase as winners of Group C following a terrific 2-1 win over Spain. The African nation hit the front just before the break when Zizo broke down the right and set the ball back to Ibrahim Adel to rattle in an excellent finish from the edge of the area. He was at it again just after the hour mark, capitalising on a loose backpass to dink home. Samu Omorodion got one back for Spain in the final minute of normal time, but it was too little, too late.
